Dimensions

The FIREQUEST Multi-Loop panels are available in three sizes, depending upon the number of loops, the number of sounders/auxiliary outputs and whether or not there is a Network module fitted. It can also be affected by the requirement for Fireman's switches/lamps.

The standard panel (1-4 loops) is 370h x 480w x 150d

The height increases from 370mm to 620mm if:

.There are 5-8 loops, and/or a Network card
.There are more than 10 Sounders/Auxiliary Outputs
.There are more than 2 Fireman's switches

The width increases from 480mm to 720mm (620h) if:

.There are 9-16 loops
.There are more than 10 Sounders/Auxiliary Outputs AND there is a Network card

Power Consumption

The panel has a quiescent current as follows:

1-loop, basic   255mA
Each added loop  30mA
Thermal Printer  20mA
10-Way Sounder/Aux  10mA
For each repeater add  35mA
If SUPERNET Interface fitted  140mA

TOP

Battery Capacity

The panels have internal battery capacity as follows:

Standard (370h) enclosure   SLA
With 1-4 loops, no printer  18Ah
With 1-2 loops, with printer  15Ah

Extended (620h) enclosure (With or w/o printer)  SLA
With 1-4 loops  24Ah
With 1-2 loops, with 2 x 10-way sounder cards  24Ah
With 5-8 loops  24Ah
With 5-8 loops, with 2 x 10-way sounder cards 12Ah
If SUPERNET Interface fitted 15Ah

Display Options

The standard panel is fitted with a 2-line x 40-character LCD. An optional Vacuum Fluorescent Display can be specified if required (FQ/VFD), at additional cost.

Compatibility

The FIREQUEST Multi-Loop panels are compatible with all Apollo XP95 and Discovery devices, including the wall-mounting High Power Loop Sounder, the Multi Sensor, the Beam Detector, Radio Module and the Flame Detector.

TOP

Repeaters

The FIREQUEST Multi-Loop range can drive up to 16 Repeaters, on a 2-wire data link. It is usual for the Repeaters to be powered from the Fire Panel, as they draw only 35mA, and operate at any voltage between 11v and 30v. If so, then 2 x 2-core data cable is usually adequate. The total Repeater Data Loop length is limited to 2km.

Repeaters are available as standard with LCD plus controls (including Silence, Reset, Evacuate) (FQR/LC), or with 32 Zone LED's (FQPR/FC). The size is 400w x 240h x 120d.

Options include adding a Printer (FQR/PRT) or 96 Zone LED's (FQPR/96Z), but in either case, the Repeater Housing size must increase to 300h (FQR/XH).

Special Finishes

All of the enclosures are available with Flush frames and Glazed doors, painted grey-white (RAL9002), with stainless steel or brass as special finishes.

TOP

Power Supply

The FIREQUEST Multi-Loop panels are designed to operate with a 230v.a.c (± 20%) 50Hz mains supply. The Charger is designed to meet EN54 Pt 4, and has battery-temperature sensing.

Inputs/Outputs

The standard panel has the following facilities:

Outputs (default settings):

.2 x Programmable Sounder Circuits (24V line reversal)
.2 x Programmable Auxiliary Outputs (v.f.c.o.)
.Common Fire relay (v.f.c.o.)
.Fire Brigade Call (v.f.c.o.)
.Common Fault relay (v.f.c.o.)

The Auxiliary Outputs can be reconfigured as Sounder Circuits during commissioning.

In addition, any of the programmable outputs can be programmed to switch on for:

.Common Alarm .Lamp Test Operated
.Common Fault .Silence Switch Operated
.Day/Night Active .Class Change Operated
.Device Isolated .Alert Switch Operated
.Pre-Alarm .Evac Switch Operated
.Reset Switch Operated

Additional Outputs:

One 10-way Sounder (FQS/10) or Auxiliary Output (FQV/10) module can be plugged into the baseboard at any time, and programmed to operate as above.

If more than 10 outputs are needed, then an Extension Motherboard (FQ/EXMB) is needed - this will require a 620h Extended Enclosure (FQ/XH). Each Extension Motherboard can be fitted with two 10-way Sounder or Auxiliary cards (mixed if needed), up to a maximum of 40 added outputs in any panel in total.

Inputs (default settings):

.Remote Alert Input .Remote Evacuate Input
.Remote Silence Input .Remote Reset Input

In addition, any of the programmable Inputs can be programmed to be the equivalent of:

.Common Alarm .Silence Switch Operated
.Common Fault .Class Change Operated
.Day/Night Active .Alert Switch Operated
.Lamp Test Operated .Evac Switch Operated
.Device Isolated .Reset Switch Operated

Networking

All FIREQUEST panels can be networked using the SUPERNET Peer-To-Peer Network. This involves adding a SUPERNET Module to each panel. There are three types of SUPERNET Module. Every panel needs at least a SUPERNET Interface (SNINT/1), which is usually fitted inside the panel (in an Extended Enclosure). It is possible to fit one as a separately-boxed item as long as it is within 50 feet of the Fire panel.

Every Network System needs as a minimum one SUPERNET Controller (SNCON/1). This is a separately-boxed module with LCD/keypad, which allows Network maintenance and fault finding. This replaces the SNINT/1 for the panel it is connected to. (PSS are offering a lower price for this item at present - call for details).

The third option is where there is a network of FIREQUEST panels, and at one or more panels, a Repeater is needed which shows alarms from more than the local panel. In this case, a SUPERNET Node (SNODE/1) is required which is usually fitted inside the panel (in an Extended Enclosure). It is possible to fit one as a separately-boxed item as long as it is within 50 feet of the Fire panel. The Repeater Data Loop is connected to the SUPERNET Node, and can then be programmed to display alarms from any or all FIREQUEST panels. This also allows the Repeater Zone LED's to be programmed to operate for individual devices or groups of devices.

Special Features

It is not possible to list every facility as there are so many. These are some of the more unique facilities:

.Apollo Discovery Protocol fully implemented
.Fully-programmable Outputs with Day/Night facility
.Day/Night can alter Detector Sensitivity and/or Sounder Programming settings
.Co-incidence Settings allow alarms to be given if two or more devices in a defined range are in alarm
.Switched Input(s) can automatically Isolate/Reconnect one or more devices - can be combined with a timer if required.
.Non-fire Devices fully supported; any address can be set to be non-fire, programmed not to sound bells, or operate LED's/relays (or even appear on the LCD)
.Pulsing Outputs synchronised across loops (except for XP95 Base-mounting Loop sounders)
.Unlimited levels of time delays (cascading timers for phased evacuation)
.List Contaminated Device option - tell the panel to print all devices with a current analogue value greater than a selected value
.999 Event History Memory, which can be interrogated by date or by event.
