Ancillaries - Mimics

PSS can design and manufacture Mimic Panels and Special Repeaters to meet the requirements for bespoke displays. They can be supplied in various designs, ranging from simple painted panels with a few LEDs, to complex site plans with multiple colours and hundreds of LEDs. Mimic panels can also be designed using more complicated techniques such as backlit site plans with LEDs and removable legends, and special finishes including stainless steel, brass and chrome. The front panel may have a site plan or building plan with LEDs showing Zones, groups of Zones or individual detectors if preferred. Alternatively, the layout may be more structured, with a labelled array of LEDs, which illuminate in response to alarms or other status changes. Mimic panels can be driven by a number of LED driver modules, and in most instances, require only a 2 x 2-core data link, and power. By using multiplexing techniques, a number of mimics can be connected to one data loop, which saves cable costs. This may be particularly effective where Plant switches and Status lamps are needed remotely.

Features

  • Artwork can be designed from a graphic image (such as AutoCad), drawings, sketches or photographs
  • In-house custom artwork service allows for the addition of logos, foreign languages, or complex layouts
  • Up to 16 background colours can be accommodated, which can be used to highlight Zones or differentiate buildings
  • Mimic Panels are generally fitted with a local audible alarm, and Lamp Test and Buzzer Mute switches
  • Durable and scratch resistant finish by using a process of silkscreening onto the reverse of an adhesive polycarbonate label, which is then fixed to a steel front panel
  • Fully programmable LEDs which can be arranged to represent Fire Alarms, Faults, Plant Status, or any other signal which can be monitored by a FIREQUEST Panel or by a Multiplexer on the Supernet Network.
  • Extensive programming facilities mean that PSS can design Mimic Panels for a wide range of applications.
  • Mimic Panel can also include LCD displays, Printers, Fireman's switches or Plant Control switches.
