The SUPERNET Data Collection and Control System has been developed to monitor and control multi plant I/O for a wide range of Fire & Security Applications. Literally thousands of remote alarm and monitoring signals such as fire, security, plant and BMS can be easily and securely transmitted to a central control point via a single data loop cable. The System consists of two main components, Controllers & Multiplexers. The Multiplexers can either be 16 or 32 channels and provide the hardware interface to the plant signals. Up to 32 Multiplexers can be connected to a Controller via a serial data loop, providing significant cost savings over discrete wiring. The SUPERNET Controller is a local control and display unit for all the signals connected to the Multiplexers. A comprehensive set of features provide the functions common to intelligent Fire and Security panels. Each Controller can be networked to other Controllers and

The SUPERNET Data Collection and Control System has ben developed to meet a diverse range of alarm and I/O monitoring applications. Built in logic functions including AND, OR and Co-incidence and programmable timers, provide a high degree of flexibility. The System is well suited to monitoring signals in shopping centres with multiple tenancy, large multi-storey commercial premises, industrial sites, schools and hospitals. With fully monitored data cabling, secure monitoring and control of fire, security, plant and BMS signals is assured. For fire applications SUPERNET can operate with all network loop data being carried on Fire Cable, without compromising on data throughput. This maintains the integrity of the fire signals and meets the requirements of BS5839. The SUPERNET Data Collection and Control System has a modular and flexible design which allows it be used as a replacement for many existing obsolete I/O monitoring systems. SUPERNET can simply replace any existing hardware and in many cases utilise existing cabling. For more simple data multiplexing applications, two SUPERNET Multiplexers can be connected together as a point to point data concentrator. Allowing up to 32 signals to be transmitted from one place to another using one pair or wires and without the need for a SUPERNET Controller. For future expansion or larger system requirements, SUPERNET Controllers can be connected together using the SUPERNET Peer-to-Peer Network. Any of the family of FIREQUEST Fire Alarm Control Panels can also be connected on to the same network. Up to 32 SUPERNET Controllers can be connected to the Network, each up to 2 km apart, providing an interface for up to 32,000 signals. The SUPERNET Network can be further expanded to include PC Graphics Displays and Mimic panels. Installation and Commissioning Installing and commissioning the SUPERNET System could not be easier, having been designed to keep on site time to a minimum. Off-line configuration of the system can be achieved back at the office using a PC Configuration program. This allows the configuration of all functions including the I/O points, their 40 character messages and any logic functions. The configuration data can then be simply downloaded into the panel, when on site. Once on site the system configuration can be simply updated via the PC. These functions are password protected to stop unauthorised access. |
